Emma is my super star! A real "dog of a life time"! She is a wonderful young lady who can seemingly turn her paws to anything!! Emma came into my life after losing little Belle & what a wonderful welcome she was!! Right from the beginning Emma was "my girl", full of personality & with a wonderful temperament. Emma has never stopped ceasing to amaze me in all that she is capable of doing, most things she only needs to be taught once & it's stored!
Emma was never bought to show but it's down to her along with encouragement from her breeders that we began showing. At only her 2nd champ show Emma qualified for Crufts & that was the slippery slope into showing for me!! Emma went on to do consistently well in the show ring including Best Puppy In Breed, Best Of Breed & qualifying for Puppy of the Year in 2002.
During 2002/3 we had the wonderful opportunity to learn to work the sheep. Emma again was a natural & once we had our correct commands, everything seemed to fall into place. There is nothing more beautiful than watching your own dog do the job they were originally bred to do
2003 saw Emma embark on what was to be the start of her agility career. Emma once again did me proud! Emma had numerous clear rounds & some respectable placed rosettes (top 10). Unfortunately due to my health problems we've had to give up competitive agility although Emma still enjoys to go training whenever we get the chance. I had also hoped to start to compete again in Obedience but after all the training, I lost my nerve when the first shows I was entered at, I was drawn in the top 5, daft I know!!
Many thanks to Emma for being the most wonderful girl that she is!
Take a look at Emma's Puppy Page to see Emma's first VERY special litter in February 2004!!
Crufts 2005 was a great day for Emma!! A lovely big ring for her to really get going in & to show her little socks off, finishing the day with 2nd in Post Graduate Bitch (20 Entries) and then going onto win 1st in the KC Good Citizens class (16 Entries). Many thanks to our breed specialist judge; Mrs A Jordan for thinking so highly of my very special Emma.
STOP PRESS!!!
On the 19th March 2006 at the Border Collie Club of GB Championship show, under Breed Specialist judge Mrs Maggie Holiday, Emma was awarded 3rd place in Limit Bitch (17 entries), therefore gaining her stud book number!! Just 2 weeks later at our next show, Emma was then awarded 2nd place in Limit Bitch under Breed Specialist Dita Kilsby. Many thanks to both of these judges for thinking so highly of Emma.
To say I'm proud of all that Emma has achieved is an understatement!!
Emma is now qualified for Crufts for life.
NEWS!!
On 13th August 2007, Emma safely delivered 4 gorgeous puppies!!
Once again Emma proved what a wonderful Mother she is & reared her puppies wonderfully ~ I did at one point wonder if I would ever get them weaned!! All of the puppies went off to their wonderful new homes where they will be seen either in the obedience, agility or show rings. The most common reports on Emma's puppies is just how quick they are to learn, once again proving brains & beauty can & do go together!
