Borderpride Are On The Move!!

Posted by Borderpride on October 22, 2014 at 10:20 AM

At the beginning of November 2014 we're finally moving home!! We're staying in Derbyshire but we're moving further south in the county so that I can be closer to my family.  I'll be sending my new details out to all of my puppy owners but if you're one of the handful that I've lost touch with then please contact me so that we can update one another & have a good catch up :)   As anyone can see from this blog, it very rarely gets used now due to having the Facebook page & Facebook Puppy Owners (closed/private) group so if you're not already a member or one of my friends then please add me - there are also some links throughout the website.

2014 has been another great year for Borderpride dog's, most especially in obedience & agility again :D

2014 also finally saw the long awaited arrival of my first Shetland Sheepdog!!  Tigger (Afterglow Ducati At Borderpride) arrived at the beginning of February :)  Tigger is a Bi Black (black & white) & is although born in the UK he's all American breeding.  Tigger is beautifully constructed with great movement & the most wonderful outgoing temperament.  We've only been to a couple of shows so far but with great success & Crufts qualified at his first show :D  I'm in the process of making a new page for Tigger as well as updating the website though it'll now be after our move before everything's finished.

Here's to continued success & happiness for everyone, Lyndsay xXx

Happy New Year!!

Posted by Borderpride on January 16, 2012 at 2:45 PM

Happy New Year to you all!!

I really hope that 2012 is the best year ever!!

I hadn't realised it'd been so long since I'd last posted in here until a couple of weeks ago & then the post I did make disappeared!!

Last year was a quiet year here, no puppies & hardly any show's due mainly to my health problem's.  Lots of other Borderpride's had a great year though in the show, obedience, agility & flyball ring's, I'm so very very proud of each & every one of them :)

This week (11.01.12) Libby has blessed us with her very first litter of 5 truly gorgeous puppies (all sold).  The plan is that 1 of the gorgeous girl's is staying here with me & the other's are all off to very active show & dog sports homes.  Libby is being the most wonderful Mum & it never fails to amaze me how their natural instinct just kicks in :)

2012 is likely to be another quiet year here as I have to go into hospital for further spine surgery but I still plan to get along to the local show's to at least watch & with Nick's help & under the right judges, Twist will make the occasional appearance.

I wish all my puppy owner's all the very best for 2012 & I hope it's the best year ever for all with lots of extra luck to the show/competition dog's :)  If you're a Borderpride owner & haven't been in touch recently then I'd love to hear from you whether by email or snail mail & photo's in any form are always much appreciated!!

Crufts

Posted by Borderpride on March 12, 2011 at 5:27 PM

Yesterday we were at Crufts & the Borderpride's were well represented with me taking along Twist & Abbie, Rosie (Borderpride Just A Love), Jean had Buddy (Borderpride Eternal Touch) & Jackie had Gem (Borderpride Future Dream at Rubywings).  All of the dog's did brilliantly & handled the very long day in their stride.  I'm really proud of them all :)

The highlight of the day was Twist winning the large KC Good Citizens class!!  HUGE thanks to Nick Grosvener for handling for me, I really am so very, very grateful :)

So, another Crufts is now over for another year!!

The next show is the BCC of GB champ show next weekend (20th) & although we're not entered I'm still hoping to go along to watch.  Good luck to any other Borderpride's who may be entered :)

A very belated Happy New Year!!

Posted by Borderpride on February 19, 2011 at 11:50 AM

Well as the title states, wishing you a very belated Happy New Year!!  I don't know where 2010 went (although I was glad to see the back of it!!) & I can't believe I've not posted in the blog for soooo long!!

In many ways 2010 was a fairly quiet year at Borderpride.  We started the new year with puppies & ended the same way after Wish had her first litter in October.  Unfortunately we didn't get to very many shows at all due to ongoing problems with my health including my back which included a stay in hospital in June.  My thanks must go to my best friend Siobhain who dropped everything to come over & stay looking after the dog's then staying on another couple of week's once I was home ~ Siobhain you're the best, an absolute star!!  Lots of thanks too to many other friends who stepped in to help throughout the year.

Many other Borderpride's however were out there flying the flag in the obedience ring's, flyball, agility, cani-x & the show ring ~ congratulations to everyone on yet another successful year, I'm so very pleased for you & of course very proud of all the Borderpride's.

Hopefully 2011 is going to be a good year too & hopefully a better one for me!!

Twist became a Daddy twice in January!!  The first litter were born on 11 January to Jess, all bitches & at 5 1/2 week's old they're looking great & their owner is over the moon with them :)  The second litter were born on 21 January to Leoti, 5 gorgeous dog's & a beautiful bitch who are also looking great at 4 week's old.  The common comment is how forward the puppies are for their ages which I'm not at all surprised about :)  There are puppies available from the litter's, have a look on the "Litters by Twist" page for further information.

It's soon going to be time for Crufts again so if you're going along then please stop by the benches & say "hello" :)

Finally, I recently had to change my mobile number, I've tried to let everyone know but if you've not received it then please drop me a line either via email or by using the "Contact Me" form on the left.

Good luck to all the competing Borderpride's this year & I promise I won't leave it so long before the next update!!

A Couple Of Updates

Posted by Borderpride on March 24, 2010 at 7:10 PM

Hooray I'm finally back online again!!  How did we ever manage before computers!!

I've finally uploaded some photo's to the Available Puppies page.  I can't believe that these puppies are still here nor the number of time wasters I've had!!  However I know that the right new forever homes are just around the corner for these wonderful babies!!

At Crufts on 11 March I took Abbie, Twist & Wish who were all short listed in their respective classes but unfotunately didn't go any further this year.  However, the gorgeous Buddy, "Borderpride Eternal Touch" who I handle was awarded 2nd place in a very large Post Graduate Dog Class!!  I think Jean is still floating!!

If you're interested in one of the puppies then please read the puppies page before contacting me.  These puppies are very high drive & need extremely active homes where their brains can be put to good use.  They should make wonderful dog sport's dog's.

Well until next time :)

Sort of Online Again!!

Posted by Borderpride on February 10, 2010 at 7:38 PM

I'm sort of back online!!  I've managed to revive my very old & ancient computer so finger's crossed it will last at least another couple of weeks until I get my new laptop.  If for any reason it doesn't (it's already thrown a couple of wobblies!!) then I'll be able to access my email at least once a week either through a friends computer but I ask that to be safe should you wish to contact me then you call me on 01283 732475.

The puppies are really growing now!!  I can't believe how the time flies!!  Lydia's pup's are now 5 weeks old & Daisy's are now 3 weeks.  Lydia's puppies are at the "into everything" stage & Daisy's are just discovering :D  I have to say that Daisy's puppies have got the waggiest tails I've ever seen & on such babies too!!

Hopefully I'll try & find a way to upload some photo's of the puppies & then you can see how lovely they really are :D

I'm Currently Offline

Posted by Borderpride on February 6, 2010 at 6:50 PM

As the title says, I'm currently offline due to my laptop "dying" (hopefully only temprorarily).

Not only is it a total nusiance but I'm unable to contact the potential puppy owners & the puppy enquirer's for Lydia & Daisy's puppies (apart from 3 who's phone numbers I've luckily been able to retrieve after speaking to them this week).

If you're one of my potential puppy owner's or have recently contacted me about a puppy then hopefully you'll read this & give me a call.

On the subject of puppies, I unexpectedly have both a couple of dog & bitch puppies available to the right home's.  If you're interested then please read my Puppies page before contacting me.

My telephone number is: 01283 732475.

Libby is just 6 1/2 months old & is the puppy I kept from Abbie last summer & I promise her page will soon be up & visible!!

Happy New Year & Lots of Updates!!

Posted by Borderpride on January 21, 2010 at 7:20 AM

Firstly I'd like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!!  I hope that 2010 is prosperous, successful & brings you all that you wish for!!

I really don't know where 2009 went!!  I think moving house last January with all that that entails (lots of work to do that is still ongoing!!) meant it seemed to go quicker than usual, then again as my wonderful Dad says, the older you get the faster the year's go!!  I think he's right lol!!

Back in November first of all Lydia was mated, a final shot & it certainly paid off as on Tuesday 5th January Lydia safely delivered 5 beautiful bitch puppies!!

Just 2 weeks later when Daisy was just 1 week in season, Twist was going bonkers so off we went to the Vets for blood to be taken for a progesterone test.  A few hours later & the results were in from Keele, Daisy had already ovulated & was ready for mating now!!  Panic stations then arose as Oliver lives with Heather up near Fort William in the Scottish Highlands which is a very long way from Derby!!  After lots of phone calls to arrange the dog-sitter, lots of rushing around, the following morning off we went on the long drive north.  The following day we headed back having left Daisy for a couple of day's as Heather was coming south for a show.

Well the trip was certainly worth it as on Sunday 17th January Daisy safely (& quickly!) delivered her final litter of 7, 4 dog's & 3 bitches!!  Thank goodness for progesterone testing (& of course Twist for his singing lol!!).

In between the mating's & deliveries I've had a fairly bad few weeks.  There's the saying about luck/bad luck coming in 3's, well try 6!!  Just some; the week before Christmas Emma was rushed into the Vets with a pyometra (womb infection that can be fatal).  Emma had to have an emergency spay operation to remove her womb which had started to rupture causing peritonitis.  I was very privileged to be able to stay & observe the surgery.  Poor Emma was then in the Vets for a week on a drip, pain relief & 2 lots of antibiotics, finally being allowed to come home on Christmas Eve with more antibiotics, pain killers & strict instructions.  I can't thank the Vet enough for all he did for Emma along with my friend Anne who assisted as nurse with the surgery & came around with me every day to check on Emma's progress & the wonderful nurses during the rest of Emma's stay.

Christmas day I then only went & had a terrible accident that meant I spent the day in the ER!!  Many thanks to the wonderful Dr's & nurse's at the Derby Royal.  Since then I have had twice weekly visits to Nottingham City Hospital & again many thanks to the wonderful Dr's & nurse's as well as my lovely GP & the District Nurse.

I won't bore you with any more but hopefully with all of these beautiful puppies arriving our luck has now changed for the better!!

I have added a page for Lydia & have updated the Puppies page with full detail's including that there may be some puppies available to the right experienced & active homes.  Please read the Puppies page before contacting me.

I'll upload some photo's of the puppies as soon as possible.  For those of you who know me including previous puppy owner's then you can also find me on Facebook.

Overdue Update!! (Again!!)

Posted by Borderpride on October 14, 2009 at 9:25 PM

Well I really have been rubbish at keeping everything up to date this year!!  I think it's simply due to a lack of hours in the day!!

Well Abbie's gorgeous puppies are now 15 week's old!!  How time flys!!  Libby has stayed here & Fancy has gone just 20 minutes away to a wonderful family where she will be shown & when old enough take part in agility.  Both girl's are gorgeous & it really was nit-picking when deciding who to keep to the point I was considering keeping both of them until Fancy's new family came along offering exactly the home I wanted & I now continue to see Fancy (now Meg) regularly.

I've not done many shows since my last update so no real news there.

Some good news on the Gonioscopy front, the following have all been tested "Unaffected";

Borderpride Act Of Love (Abbie)

Borderpride Classic Love (Lexie)

Borderpride Classic Story (Troy)

Borderpride Eternal Dream (Maddie)

I think that's about all for now so until next time I'll just leave with a photo of Libby at 6 weeks (I really must get some decent photo's!!) :)
